Kurt - Clare
There was one time when I first joined the X-Men. Professor Xavier, he saved me from a mob of angry townsfolk in Winzeldorf who thought I was a killer because of the way I looked. I had only been in America once before, to join a circus whose owner decided he wanted me to be in his freak show and had drugged me and put me in a cage. I was new to the country, with English as my second language, with the outward appearance of a demon. I didn't know anybody, either. I might has well have been from a different universe. But we bonded together, because we had a common thread. We were all mutants.
Over the years, some of the team mates left, others died, new ones joined, and we got to know them. It's always hard, being the new person stepping into a group where everybody closely knows each other. But the X-Men and Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, we always had new arrivals, new people whose mutations emerged and came to us for shelter and learning.
Of course, it's natural for you to want people familiar around, people who have a shared background, from the same universe. But practically speaking, the Tesseract is random, it may bring Peter back, or somebody else from your family. For your sake, I pray that they do come. But until then, think of us as your family.
I'm not sure I understand... what charity thing? I'm new to this universe myself, I'm still not familiar with how things are set up.
