Well, she certainly talked like Spidey, Flash had to give her that. And actually felt a bit like old Pete. The jokes. Having bad experience with the suit. Being wary-ish of SHIELD. Not being a joiner. Even if she wasn't the Spideys he knew for, well, some obvious physical reasons, those simple shared characteristics were reassuring.
