Since he'd first introduced himself to the other timeline's Magneto, he hadn't had much of a chance to talk to him. He'd been pretty busy being awkward when the Tesseract had turned him into a thirty-five year old, and now that that was settled and the weekend's festivities were winding down, he packed a tupperware container full of cheese blintzes and berry sauce, and went off to greet his grandfather more personally. With the younger Magneto, his introduction had been less about hospitality and more about making sure he didn't pull Potts Tower down around himself by tying the metal structure into knots. So he was glad that thus far, this Erik hadn't done anything remotely similar. The less reason Lensherr gave to make people angry, the better it was for everyone. Billy knew that Magneto in his universe had done some pretty heinous things over the years. He didn't know what this Lensherr had done, but it didn't really matter to him. His boyfriend had tried to destroy realms in the past, so he wasn't about to start deciding who he was going to judge and who he wasn't. Billy had sort of hovered around the outskirts of the X-Men community since he'd been in this universe. Being here was different than living at home, where he had his parents who supported him and his brothers who loved him. He had a place where he belonged, and he almost felt like he shouldn't reach out to the X-Men for that reason. He felt like it wasn't fair to him to lean on them or want to be a part in their community because things were so much better for him than he knew it had been for many of them, growing up in broken homes or with parents who didn't accept what they were or what they needed. Kaplan shifted to put the tupperware under his arm as he reached out and tapped lightly on the door to Magneto's apartment, and bowed his head as he waited for a response. |
