It's okay!
Evie flashed Marlene a smile when she confirmed that she was from Potts Tower, “And how! Me too!” she said. Well, Evie supposed it must be rather obvious that she was from Potts Tower if she was asking. “I’ve only been here, well, a month or so, I suppose,” Evie said.
“I’m Evie- Evie O’Neill,” she smiled, shaking Marlene’s hand as she extended it. Evie couldn’t help but take note of the unnatural hair color and the tattoos. It’s not that they bothered Evie, not really, she just wasn’t used to seeing it. It wasn’t like tattoos hadn’t been invented yet, of course, it’s just that no one had them. As for the hair dye, Evie was fairly that it wasn’t possible to dye your hair strange colors when she was from. Of course, plenty of people in New York looked like Marlene, and Evie supposed it was sort of interesting to see how fashion changed. The jump between her time and her parents’ time alone had been really quite dramatic.
“So,” Evie began, “Where are you from then?” she asked, a hint of uncertainty in her voice. It was a much more complicated question to ask the Potts Tower people than anyone else. Normally, it just meant what town you were from, but here the answers could be much more varied, and of course, it was also a way of asking what book or picture or ‘TV show’ she was from.
