No, they will not. And mine do not. I faced execution, my own and those of two of my dearest friends, because I would not break my ideals and further damage the Republic I believe in. I believe war is wrong, and I have been willing to give my life to prevent it or to prevent extending it even longer. My life is not my largest concern. We cannot lose ourselves and call that life. It isn't preservation to break ideals but our own destruction.
I have worked with Mon Cala and Quarren, with Pantorans and with Rodians, with as many nonhumans as I have humans, if not more. On their issues. There are thousands of species in my galaxy. To be concerned with only humans would be foolish and callous. As queen, I worked with the Gungans for years and on issues that were their own because when others do well, it is better for all of us.
In the Clone Wars, I have faced all of those in order to help all citizens of the Republic, those people who want to leave the Republic, and for the clone troopers, whose lives should not be thrown away so that the banks can make more money, so that the Kaminoans can grow richer, and so that people's anger and hatred has a bloody outlet. They are not looked at as people by so many, even in the Republic, because they were cloned and grown in less time than it takes others to grow up. But they are living beings, sentient, and deserving of their own rights. They have as much a right to live as us all. And I continue to fight for it. So long as someone's rights are being compromised, those rights do not exist.
I am not John Brown. My ways are not to use violence to seek my ends. Looking at that time in earth's history, I'm more like Harriet Beecher Stowe and those who ran the Underground Railroad.
I don't want this situation to come to when push comes to shove. I'd much rather work with you to prevent that.
