Sometimes people leave you halfway through the wood Who: Revan & Johanna Mason When: Backdated to April 7, following this conversation Where: Johanna's flat What: Revan is teaching her how to play pazaak and makes no promises about not mercilessly beating her at a game she's never played before. Rating: PG-13 probably?
Revan shuffled the makeshift deck of cards in his hands as he walked to Johanna’s place, his mind wandering while his body moved in an almost automatic manner. He hadn’t been here very long, but now that he was more or less accustomed to the area, he could feel the restlessness beginning to overwhelm him. He could barely get to sleep anymore because he spent so much time tossing and turning in his bed, or staring up at the ceiling for hours on end.
It wasn’t just that he was away from his wife -- their bond through the Force had become a sort of anchor for him, providing him a sense of comfort and calm -- it was the knowledge that there had been multiple Jedi Purges and he had the distinct, sickening feeling that whatever he had found may have been the cause of it all.
Teaching Johanna how to play pazaak was just as much a distraction for himself as it was for her. He stopped just before her door and brushed his unruly, dark brown hair out of his face with his fingers, pushing the strands back and then knocking on her door. As soon as it swung open, he mustered his best, not-entirely-false smile to her.
“I’ll try to go easy on you,” he said, holding up the pack of cards. “But I do get very competitive very quickly. Though if you don’t have any alcohol, we can probably avoid any serious bets being placed.”
