“Kol!” She called as she banged against his apartment door. Her show had aired, but Davina decided she didn’t want to know. That was until she found herself tossing and turning. At about 5am she couldn’t take it anymore and found it online. Watching it… Caroline was right, knowing was a lot better than not knowing. Still, Davina didn’t trust the Mystic Falls people after her conversation with Bonnie and decided that she was going to watch all of The Vampire Diaries episodes. There were a lot of things that Davina was realising that the Mystic Falls people just did not get. They didn’t truly get the Original family like she did, they didn’t have the same knowledge that she had, and they were so caught up in their ways that they pissed away really good opportunities. Davina wasn’t dumb, the only reason people talked to her was because they wanted something from her. She’d grown to accept that. She was a Harvest Witch. As Kol opened the door she stormed inside of his apartment without saying anything to him until she was inside. Turning to look at him where he stood at the door she crossed her arms and glared at him. The glare was only because she cared about him. She really cared about him. They had so much in common in some ways that she couldn’t help but really like him. He made her angry, but she cared about him, probably more than his own family did sometimes. Although it looked like Rebekah was actually going to decide to help him. “I can’t believe you didn’t tell me!” She said knowing full way that it wasn’t totally fair to blame him for something he hadn’t done yet. The thing was, was that Davina felt like it was her fault. He had gone there because of her. Because she had to save Marcel and Josh. It was her fault he was now dying and the thought of losing him… Davina was terrified of losing someone she cared about that much. ~~~ Less than twelve hours before he had been watching his show. He watched as his siblings didn't jump to his aid. They doubted he was even telling the truth. Burning with anger at their lack of affection for him he nearly turned the television off. But he didn't. The television stayed on and Kol remained glued to his future. Through the course of the hour he drained the remainder of the bottle he'd sat down with. Kol turned on a movie that he wasn't really paying attention to. It took awhile but he'd eventually found sleep but a couple of short hours later there was someone pounding on his door. Davina Claire. And she sounded pissed. It might not have been fair to blame him for something he hadn't done yet but he knew that he'd do it again if given the chance. That was Kol actually thinking about someone other than himself for a change. Which should speak volumes regarding how much he cared for her. Kol didn't want to hurt her. Or burden her with the guilt of what happened. He'd gone there for her. He'd known it was a suicide mission. Even if he didn't like the outcome he'd made his choice. "To be fair, I did tell you here," he offered, trying to be funny. ~~~ Davina hated being lied to, and worse she hated feeling like something was her fault and when she didn’t know about it she couldn’t find a way to fix it. She was always going to find a way to fix things, she had to. Especially when it came to one of the people that she actually honestly truly cared about. Hell, even as much as she hated Klaus she’d sided with him when it was a matter of Cami being okay or not. She would do whatever it took to protect the people that she cared about, and Kol was really high on that list. With her arms crossed her angry and worried expression turned to an annoyed glare. “Kol, that’s not funny and you know it. It’s really not funny.” She said feeling a small amount of rage building up in her. “You should have come to me, we could find a way to save you…” She said pausing. “We will find a way to save you because I’m not letting Finn get what he wants no matter how many dark objects he does or doesn’t channel.” She said in a rather matter of fact tone of voice. ~~~~ He had to admit this had to be some cosmic karma. One of the rare occasions where Kol did something for someone else was going to kill him. An unselfish act was going to be his downfall. All for the pretty little witch glaring at him. If he had told her she'd have been set on trying to save him. He'd have allowed his hopes to get too high only to find out what he'd already known; that he was going to die. "Save me? You can't save me. I've been hexed, Davina. Or I will be," Kol told her, his tone a little harsher than he'd meant. "There's no reversing this, love." There wasn't any point in sugar coating it if she had watched it. He hated that she watched it. That she knew. That she had seen everything she had. "The best we can do is hope I stay unaffected here. That's it." ~~~ “You don’t know that for sure Kol.” Davina said shaking her head. Yes, she knew it looked bad, yes she knew he’d been hexed by his insane brother of all people. And she thought her family had issues, they had nothing on the Original family. Especially Finn, Davina was pretty sure she hated Finn more than she hated Klaus at this point, actually she knew she did. “We have found ways out of really impossible situations before and I’m not giving up hope, and you shouldn’t either, you know way more about what exactly happened to you, you just might not be thinking of ways to actually save you because you’re too wrapped up in the dying part and I just won’t accept that.” She said as she uncrossed her arms and walked towards him. Her hands moved up to his face, her blue eyes filled with concern for him and determination that there was a solution. “I’m not letting you die.” ~~~ "Nobody know how to cheat death quite like a Mikaelson, Davina. I should have died when the Other Side fell apart. Mother had other plans. Again." She'd helped them cheat death when she'd turned them all into Originals. "I guess we'll have to watch next Monday and find out." Bex had had the same conclusion. Eventually, anyway. It didn't mean he actually thought there was a way out. He stayed rooted where he was as she walked towards him. "Being mortal comes at a cost." His current problem wouldn't be a problem had he still been in his original body as an Original vampire. Which wasn't an option any longer because Jeremy and Elena killed him. ~~~ “So, we’ll just find a way for you to cheat death again. If anyone can make it happen it’s us.” Davina said rooted and very set in her ways in believing that they were going to find a way to save them. They HAD to find a way to save him. She wasn’t going to let anything else happen to him, not when she knew they could find a way to do something about it. If it meant giving up finding a way to kill Klaus to keep him alive, she would do it. As much as she was still rooted firmly in hating Klaus land, she’d stepped away from hurting him before for people she cared about, she’d do it for Kol. Her hands on his faced dropped to his shoulders and ran to rest on his chest. “Please have hope.” Davina said a little bit more desperately than she wanted to sound. “Because I’m not going to, and if you decide to, well I’ll just have enough hope for both of us.” She decided as if that would just make everything work the way that i was supposed to be. She rolled her eyes at his comment. “Yeah, and being a witch has the benefit of finding ways around that. There is always a way to break a spell, or a loophole somewhere.” Her eyes turned hopeful and possibly a bit of fear in it. “I’m not going to lose you.” ~~~ Hearing that sound in her voice made him want to pull her in closer. He reached out resting his hands on her waist. Kol wasn't sure whether Davina Claire was his salvation or his undoing. "I must be daft, Davina Claire." His own siblings faltered at helping him, at standing by him yet here Davina was. Blindly optimistic and ready and willing to do whatever it takes to keep him alive. If only his own blood could have rushed this quickly when he's gone to them for help. "And you are impossibly stubborn." Kol knew the odds. He knew what kind of dark magic they were up against. Yet somehow she was causing him to have hope. He was running out of reasons not to. He wasn't surprised. The Davina he knew didn't back down from any kind of challenge. ~~~ Very slowly her worried, hopefully and slight glare expression softened as the tugs of a smile started to pull at the corner of her lips. “I wont argue there.” She said as that tug of a smile turned into an actual smile. Shrugging, Davina really couldn’t argue with that either, she was stubborn. She was going to find a way and that was that. There was no arguing it or saying it wasn’t possible it had to be possible, anything was possible. Kol and Finn had both died as vampires and now lived as mortal witches in different bodies. Anything was possible. “I like to say it’s determination.” She countered. Both were correct. “Besides, I’ll fight for you.” ~~~ Kol wasn’t entirely sure he believed they could find a loophole. Its not even like they could ask others here. From what he could tell magic worked differently in other worlds from his own. And the witch here from their world wouldn’t do anything to help them. That much he knew. But he didn’t want to argue over the lack of hope his situation held. And he didn’t want to think about anything he’d just seen. “Whatever you need to tell yourself, darling.” His tone was playful and the smile on his lips should convey the humor his words held. At least someone would. he thought. Without question or bartering for her trust. He knew at least Bex would be on the list that fought for him. It appeared that Nik might have been able to truly learn forgiveness but Kol was not going to bet his life on it. “Perhaps I should make you mad more often,” he teased. “You’re hot when you’re mad,” Kol added, grinning at her. ~~~ While Kol’s tone might be playful, Davina partly glared at him at his comment. He was so annoying, really annoying actually and she knew that he was trying for humor but she was probably too focused on how serious the situation was and selfishly on how she could not lose someone else she cared about, maybe could love. That was too much. “I only tell myself the truth.” She said, but couldn’t stop herself from smiling at him. Kol broke her down in some way, in a good way, it was just still really annoying too. She still felt really bad that she was the reason he was getting cursed like that anyways. “I thought you said I was attractive all the time, or is it just when I’m mad at you?” Davina said, but her smile broke the harshness of her tone as she grinned. ~~~ |
