In the middle of dusting the countertops with the strange paper that he'd discovered and some soapy water, Sam heard the familiar voice and the knock on the door. He walked over to it with the wet rag still in his hands and opened the door with a cheerful, "Hullo!" It was then that Sam realized who was actually at his door. He offered a grin to Aragorn, relieved to see a familiar face present.
"Strider!" he greeted, using the familiar name to what he'd first called Aragorn instead of his proper name. It still rolled more easily off his tongue and Sam wasn't one for titles or anything else. "Come in, come in! I'd offer you tea and a bite to eat, but I haven't had a chance yet to get a garden growing. Come to think of it, I'm not entirely sure if I have a place to build a garden." Sam tilted his head, then stood to the side to let Aragorn step in.
He had to admit that it was beneficial to have someone who he knew right now. Sam was all about figuring things out on his own, as most hobbits were curious, but since Aragorn was already here, it was really good to see him.
