Seeing him without the helmet made Tony Stark seem more human to her, then. She relaxed back into a more normal position, still on guard with half an ear on the Titan behind her. If it so much as moved, Mikasa knew she could strike it down in a second with a sudden leap into the air and slicing attack. That much was certain. At Tony's question, however, Mikasa gave him a look. It wasn't so much a simple glance. The gaze in her eyes was a sharp one. The pain of losing those important to her, her family twice and all of her fellow soldiers, reflected behind those dark depths. They were the eyes of a soldier, someone who had seen far too much, and Mikasa was barely fifteen. She'd lost her family twice, now three times having been brought here. She wasn't about to let anyone else be hurt by the Titans if she could avoid it.
"Intelligent?" Mikasa repeated, then shook her head fiercely. "These bastards are hardly intelligent. It's not that you need to worry about. They can sense humans, because of the very thing that keeps us alive: our heartbeats, or so I've been taught. I've seen proof of it. That's all they care about. They find humans no matter where you hide or how old or young you are. They devour you, and they will devour you if you are caught within their sights unprepared." Even if you are prepared, was the statement that Mikasa didn't include. She let it linger in the air, quiet for a moment and reflective.
"These ones you don't need to worry about. These ones I can handle. It's what could show up that I'm worried about." Here, her eyes flickered upward to meet Tony's. "I didn't mention it on the network. There are other types of Titans, well, two other types. Abnormals, that seem to be able to think on their own more, and what we understand now to be the Titan-shifters. My brother, Eren, is one, but he has no drive even in Titan form to destroy humans. He'd rather use his strength to kill the bastards himself. There are some, however, who would seek to kill humanity. Two Titans in particular whom we call the Colossus Titan and the Armored Titan appeared suddenly five years ago in my world. The Colossus stood over sixty meters tall, stretching over our great wall protecting our city."
She clenched a fist at her side. "He broke through the first Wall, Wall Maria, and led the Titans into our world. The Armored Titan, equally as deadly, rampaged within the city." Her gaze turned fierce, almost furious as she spoke. "I later learned that these shifters were also pretending to be soldiers in the military, parading as humans all while they destroyed us."
