He had been looking out, enjoying the sights around him. When Bilbo heard the light voice beside him, he looked over with a pleasant smile of his own. He lowered the pipe from his mouth out of respect of the stranger standing beside him and patted the seat beside him.
"Well met, my lady," Bilbo greeted softly. "I hope that I'm not taking your spot, then. It would be rather rude of me to do so. Come join me, if you'd like?"
She was a human from the looks of her, but Bilbo was gathering that people here didn't always fit into categories of Middle Earth. There were no halflings here, for example. No one really knew of the Shire, of the Baggins, no men of Gondor or Rohan, no orcs. Well, that last one, he didn't really mind. Bilbo would be glad if he never saw another orc or goblin again.
