Violet sat quietly on her little corner on the roof of Potts Tower. It was still cold, and she knew she wouldn't be out there for very much longer, but she wanted to be someplace quiet. It was one of her favorite spots in the city, mostly for it's convenient location. The view of the city was always a sight worth seeing, and it was a great place to gather her thoughts. There was nothing particularly wrong with her this time, as the last time she found herself on the roof it was because she had friends sent back home. Tonight, Violet just wanted some peace and quiet.
Her thoughts did occasionally turn to her life here in New York. Next month, not only would it be her seventeenth birthday, but it'll be one year since she first arrived. That was difficult to grasp. One year without her family, one year of not seeing her old friends, one year of making new friends and losing them. Faces of old friends, Anna, Elsa and Kellen. It still pained her to think about them. She did count herself lucky as there were still people living in the tower that she cared about, and they cared about her. Feeling the chill of the wind, Violet stood up from her spot and took in a strange smell. It wasn't cigarettes, and she couldn't quite put her finger on it.
As she turned the corner to head back, she saw a very familiar figure. Her face instantly flushed from the excitement of seeing one of her favorite literary characters. "Oh!" Violet said, a little startled as she definitely wasn't expecting to run into him. "I didn't know anyone else was up here." She offered him a pleasant smile. "You picked a good spot. It's a great view."
