"You're never going to have to know what would have happened, because I'm always going to be here." That was a promise that she was pretty sure that she could keep. And she was pretty sure that he felt the same way when it came to her.
Whatever had happened to him had been horrible, she understood that. And she could imagine all sorts of things that might have happened to him. It made her sad and angry of course, but there wasn't anything she could do about it but help him in the here and now. Whatever she could do to comfort him and be there for him, she would do even if he never told her what happened. It wasn't necessary, but she did worry sometimes. More about him hurting himself than her. She had a whole lot of patience.
She grinned slightly. "I'll have you know that I was a nightlight for a long while, don't you forget it. There's nothing too wrong with glowing. Even if it's tied to a giant rip in the sky." And thankfully that was all over with.
Her eyebrows scrunched up, looking over at him. He looked the same. "What? What's wrong?"
