From the sudden lapse into silence, she could tell that he'd seen it, but she went through the motions of putting the food away before she turned back. "Kate told me about these," she said finally. "And... a little bit more. I didn't think I was going to look into it, but..."
But she'd wanted to find out what happened to Peeta. Even that was only because Kate had said he lived. She'd figured she could handle whatever bad thing that happened to him as long as she kept that in mind, that he'd get through it. In retrospect she wasn't entirely sure she'd been right about that.
"I read it on the train," she added, rather than talk about anything she'd read. "Some of it. Not very much." After a moment's hesitation, she added, "I probably shouldn't have."
