Jack chuckled at that mental image. "Not sure gold lame would really suit you though you'd definitely have gotten my attention in a 'why is he wearing gold lame' sort of way." He knew why Ianto had been so determined to be hired but he left that part of it alone. He'd been angry at the time at the betrayal, at the reminder of why Torchwood One could never be trusted but Ianto hadn't done it because he wanted to bring Torchwood Three down. He'd done it because he'd loved Lisa. Jack could forgive a lot if love was the purpose behind it.
He wasn't quite as sure about the Doctor wanting to join that group though that could well just be the residual hurt of being abandoned coming to the fore rather than reality. "I'm glad you were well away from it all. It took everything I had not to react too much when he waved everything he knew about Torchwood Three in my face. I think he suspected I was lying but he never got bored enough to pursue it too far." He shuddered and let his head rest on Ianto's shoulder, his arm tightening around him. "If he'd known how I really felt, he'd have brought you all to the Valiant and... probably killed you all in front of me. Just for fun."
