Jack smiled at the thought. "I hope that happens. Tosh would love this place. Between her and the Doctor, nobody would be able to keep them away from the Tesseract." Actually the idea of the Doctor encouraging Tosh was both hilarious and vaguely alarming. The result would be spectacular either way.
He deepened the brush of lips into a kiss and pulled Ianto closer. Talking about his past, especially the worst parts of it, wasn't something that came easily to him. It was why he'd mastered the flippant comment and the saucy story to distract and deflect.
"You're going to have to be patient with me," he finally said a little ruefully. "It's been a long time since I did serious when it comes to relationships." He'd actively shied away from serious since he'd discovered his immortality. It took a rare person to sneak past his defences. "And it's only since I met Rose and the Doctor that there's much that I'm proud of. You've met John. That could so easily have been me. We weren't that different when we were working together."
