Finnick smiled at the sound of her laughing. He wrapped his arm more firmly around her and pulled her playfully toward him, pressing a kiss to the side of her head.
"It's okay, girl on fire. Your secret is safe with me," he teased. He wondered, just for a moment, what things would have been like if he had been here without her. Without anyone who knew what he was or what he was going through or who he had lost. But then, he probably would have bled to death on the kitchen floor his first night here.
"I want you to stay," Finnick said, his tone a little more serious. He loosened his hold on her, paused. "Thank you."
