It shouldn't have been a surprise when Katniss came running. He'd been by her side as she'd fought her way from nightmares, after all. Still, he was so unaccustomed to having anyone besides Annie -- and some time ago, Mags -- see him like this, that he couldn't help but shy away from it, no matter what he'd told Katniss since they had arrived here.
"Hey," Finnick said, trying to keep his voice steady, but it was undeniably hoarse, the pull of his District Four accent more unmistakable in these unhidden moments.
"I should--" Finnick tried to say, even though he didn't know what he should do. He started to pull the blankets back from himself, sliding along the other side of the bed so that he could try and get to his feet.
"Swim," he finished off lamely gesturing upward with his hand, indicating the general direction of the pool. He didn't know if she was aware that he left the apartment most nights, heading off to do laps until he was too exhausted to even walk.
