Rose and OPEN.
A party had seemed like a great idea when Adrian suggested it, something low key in their rooms with just a few friends. Rose had made some outside of the people she knew from home, too, so the invite went out to them, but it was still a fairly small group. She might have preferred something a little bigger and louder, but this seemed to make Sydney and Lissa happy and that was more important to Rose. She knew Lissa was still adjusting to things, so if this was what she wanted, Rose was fine with it.
She was circulating and mingling, trying to make sure people have stuff, so she didn't really notice when Faith first came in. A part of that was trying hard not to pay much attention to the other couples in the room or the fact that it felt like she was about the only one who didn't have someone. She couldn't completely escape it, given the bond that made her constantly aware of the feelings Christian brought out in Lissa, but she was getting pretty good at blocking Lissa out, so it was just more of a distant hum that let her know her best friend was okay.
When she did glance at Dimitri, she spotted him with Faith, laughing openly at something she had said. Seeing him like that hurt. The old jealousy that she hadn't really felt like this since Tasha's visit to campus last Christmas flared up. Whatever she'd been doing was forgotten as she grabbed and drink and headed for the balcony to get some air.
