I know. I didn't like being tracked either, believe me, and given their source material, it's not an unfounded concern. They did create a map that showed the locations of everyone inside the Hogwarts castle-- that's the wizarding school, if you're not familiar with their universe-- even long after its creators had died, been imprisoned, or left the castle. But that's different from being able to track you all over the world, and it's not what they're doing.
If you want to look at the watch, or talk to them about it, or both-- I'd be interested in hearing what they have to say, too. I'm familiar enough with their source material and the general concept of their magic (though I'm hardly an expert) as well as their personalities to feel comfortable with it, for whatever that's worth, although I know the risks of being tracked are significantly higher for you. Maybe we could get an outside source to test it, even. Someone like Dumbledore or Severus Snape would probably be willing, and if they couldn't crack it, I don't think anyone could.
