Veronica breathed a sigh of relief. She wanted to enjoy this long weekend with him, and while she was a person with a strong moral compass and a need for justice, she was also a girl who was in love and wanted to enjoy her youth for just a little bit. She smiled and nodded. "All right, good. I just...want some time with you." Maybe it made her sound childish, but they deserved some time just alone without the distractions of vampires, angels, demons, worlds falling apart and ex-boyfriends.
She made a pouty face when once again she was denied her pony. "Fine, but I demand horse rides tomorrow to make up for that," she said, cocking her head towards the stables off in the distance. This place had STABLES, how great was that? She already looked forward to the next day and all the fun in store.
Sam started talking about timing and sorting things out and questions and she was confused at first, not putting things together. It wasn't until he pushed the velvet box in her hands that his words started to come together, and Veronica felt her chest tighten. She wasn't a girl who had done the 'dream of a white wedding and flower throwing and virginal white dresses' sort of thing. She never was. And part of her thought she'd never be able to love anyone that way. For so long she had hardened over that place in her heart. She just couldn't see a way that anyone would or could wade through all the issues she had with men and trust and consent. Sam had, and had stayed with her through good and bad. She'd literally held his torn flesh together in her hands, and he'd seen her at some of her worst-when she'd been affected by the fear gas and out of her mind. Through it all he had been there, and he had opened up a part of her she thought had locked away. Even though she had dreamed about them together forever, and they had talked about it, the box in her hand was suddenly this real moment she hadn't thought fully possible.
Her eyes welled with tears even more and without really meaning to, she burst into tears, her arms flinging around Sam's neck, not able to form words. She hadn't even opened the box yet, but she didn't need to. There was no other person on this world, or any other, for Veronica Mars. "Sam....Sam Sam Sam Sam," she repeated into his ear, jumping into his arms, and burying her face in his neck.
"You don't have to ask, tree. Yes is not strong word for how I feel. I want to spend the rest of all the lives on all the planets in all the universes with you. Every single one."
