Yeah, they do but I'm very young by human standards, let alone Elven ones and sometimes they forgot that I'm a Knight Mage as well and that trumps everything. Redhelwar, the Army's General, wasn't overly pleased but when I told him what was in the cavern, that it was all traps and his plan would have gotten a third of the army destroyed, he... well, he looked awful for a moment. He trusted me after that. As for insulting Belepheriel, well, it needed to happen. He was becoming an impediment and a problem and the Wild Magic wanted him to essentially wake up and start thinking properly because he is a good komentai'i and we needed him. So I got to give him the kick in the pants he needed. It wasn't fun. I found out afterwards that he'd just been told his only son, his only child, had been killed. And Elves don't have many children.
I'd never really thought about it before I left the City. I was a bit too preoccupied with other things and the first woman I met after leaving was my sister Idalia and not fitting into the High Mages' view of women was half the reason she got banished!
