Rose smiled as a wave of calm soothed her over. Leave to the Doctor to be able to blow away or kiss in this case any lingering fears. It was also very like him to comfort her when their initial conversation started by Rose asking him how he was feeling. Typical. Somehow the Doctor made Rose very much aware of her own feelings, and the only difference this time was that she was willing to listen.
"There's nothing to feel sorry for," she replied. "You get caught up in your own thoughts. I imagine it's easy to do with your mind, but you're acting plenty grateful. Even if you aren't consciously doing in, your proving how grateful your are every day." Rose lifted her head and placed her hand on his cheek. "Reality is far better. And this," she said as she squeezed his hand. "Is for when you're feeling lost in your thoughts again. You will find Gallifrey. You're the brilliant Doctor that saved them all, and then you'll do what the Doctor does best, you'll find them. It might not be this face, the face I love but you'll always remember the time you lost hope and then found it again."
The words came spilling out, and she hoped she hadn't said the wrong thing. It was so easy to be caught up in the moment whenever she spoke with the Doctor. Easing his pain and making him smile had always been a top priority. From the moment when she heard her first Doctor say that he was just on his own Rose answered with, 'There's me.' and those words were equally as true in this moment as they were when she first spoke them. Even when her time comes to an end, she knew there would be others and Rose learned to be okay with that. Because the Doctor should never be alone.
