She listened as her sister spoke about breaking the Alchemist tattoo and stared a bit. "But...but why?" A thought occurred to her. "Was it because he made you do it?" She was certain she didn't have to specify who he was. "That's it isn't it? He compelled you to get it broken and to betray me...us! The Alchemists I mean!" She did her best to look outraged and angry but only succeeded in looking lost and confused.
She shook her head about the talk of re-education. "I do think for myself!" she protested, pulling her hands free and getting up. There was a slight tremor to her hands but if it was from fear or anger, Zoe didn't know. "And...and re-education is just to wipe clean the evil that they do us, that's all!" There was no way that their father would condone that sort of thing if it was done to one of his children, right?
