The last four months had been a bit torturous for Zoe. She had been obsessing with her sister's condition in re-education, trying to find out what was going on with her. Unsurprisingly to anyone who knew Jared, he didn't seem to care much about his middle daughter. Or any of his daughters. It had left Zoe wondering if she should have gone with her mother. But she still wanted to prove herself as good as an Alchemist as her sister or father.
When she heard her sister and felt the arms around her, she stiffened at first, surprised at the hug. The fifteen year old had had no idea what to expect and a hug hadn't been on that list. After a moment though she wrapped her arms tightly around her sister and clung to her as tightly as she could. She wanted to apologize for turning her in but she couldn't get her throat to work right to get the words out. So she just clung to Sydney, trembling some. Though if it was from relief, fear, exhaustion or who knew what, Zoe herself didn't know. But part of her was afraid if she let go of Sydney she'd wake up and would be driving away from Court and her sister with their father and Ian and his annoying crush.
