"You woke up here this morning, and you don't remember a portal. So this must be something else then. Sometimes people wake-up younger or older, or --" she stopped, deciding to leave out the fact of the opposite gender. There was no need to completely confuse him and she'd just given him a lot of information to take in.
"That's your wand, Sev. Have you started Hogwarts yet? You should be able to do spells with it, if you know any, but that is your wand. I could see you sleeping with it near-by."
The water started boiling and Lily took a moment to pull it off, reach for the tea leaves, and start them brewing. After she did that, she poured two cups of tea, giving one to Sev how she remembered he used to like it when her Mom made it for him. It was something she hadn't thought about in years and years, and it was odd to be doing it for him like this, like he was her son, rather than her best friend. Taking the other one for herself she stepped around the cauldrons and sat down.
"Well," she considered. "The portal is a bit of a time machine too. like, when you were here, you were much older than me. I'm here, but it was 1981 when I came from. My son is here, and he's almost as old as I am. I realise this has got to sound a bit mad, but this place is a bit mad, after all. You're all right, yes? you don't feel odd or anything wrong?"
