MM would second this idea! Maybe there could be a welcome committee/group of volunteers who get informed of new arrivals so they can extend greetings & help out before the person makes it onto the network? Since every housing assistant can't be around 24/7, and there's no guarantee new arrivals will be evenly distributed among them. (It could also extend into the idea of offering a meal to new people -- the option to have a friendly face/source of information join them for their meal if they want company.)
Also, idk if this is on the ESD schedule yet but MM is planning to offer sort of a remedial education course with particular emphasis on helping people from very different times or places catch up on this world's subjects of study/learning tools & skills, etc. So she'd definitely volunteer for the welcoming gig. :D
