"I don't know how you stomached watching it," she answered with half a smile. There hadn't been much touch back on LV-426. He showed her a weapon, he grabbed her hand to yank her down a corridor, they got his armor off as fast as they could. None of it lent itself to amorous leanings. Not really. Her hand at his face was interesting, though. Just enough stubble that it was rough on the pads of her fingertips. "Was it true to life?"
Ripley gave the side of his face a soft tap. It might have been playful in any other context, but here it was almost a diversion. No sense in getting attached when things were just going to go to shit back in their world. Or did it mean that things could be different here?
It hit her then that he had seen her die, that this was just as hard on him as it was on her. She guessed that maybe because he was a Marine, she hadn't thought it would be that big a deal. His entire unit was dead, the people he had sworn to protect were all dead. "What about Bishop? He make it out? They fix him?"
