Logan had plenty on his mind as of late and that just didn't revolve around his chance meeting with one Veronica Mars. In all honesty, there was a lot that still hurt and the wounds were still fresh but he tried to move on from it. Even if his initial reaction was to try to avoid her. Sure, he wanted to be friends with her and yet the feelings he had for her were there, he knew he had to move on, but that was easier said than done. He did decide to proceed with barkeeping as a job and because he had a month or so to metaphorically kill before this place opened, he had decided to take up some barkeeping classes. It was a nice distraction and Logan had the chance to socialize with people. Well, he had just finished a class and he was heading back to his room when he thought he saw a familiar face. It couldn't be. His mind must be playing tricks on him or the Tessarect really liked to mess with his mind. New York City was the last place Lilly Kane expected to end up in today. The day had started out normally enough. It was a beautiful day in Neptune, as usual. Lilly was taking advantage of the weather by lying out next to the pool, her already tanned skin glistening in the sun. She was flipping idly through a magazine when the light above distracted her. Suddenly, there were stars in the sky where pure, cloudless light blue had been. “Whaaat is going on?” Lilly asked, so enraptured by the scene above her that she didn’t even realize she was no longer alone. She reached out to touch the scene above her as she tried to get a better look and suddenly she was engulfed in pain. When it stopped, she found herself someplace completely different. After chilling on Asgard for awhile, Lilly was brought to New York where she was asked a bunch of super annoying questions and then she was let go with a phone and a key card to her new apartment. Ooookay, then. This was all pretty freaky, but whatever. Lilly liked New York and she couldn’t wait to tell Veronica about what had happened to her. The weird thing was that when she tried to call the number she’d long ago memorized for her best friend, the call wouldn’t go through. Lilly just shrugged it off, though, and made her way toward the apartment she’d been told was hers. A grin spread over her lips as she spotted a familiar face, though, and she forgot all about that apartment as she took in the site of her boyfriend. Ex-boyfriend, technically? She and Logan were in a fight at the moment and he’d said it was over for good, but she didn’t believe him, not really. “Hey, Logan,” she called out, “what are you doing here?” Something looked different about him, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on it. As much as Logan could try to ignore the face, the voice was what made him turn around. This Tessarect really liked to fuck with him, especially now that his dead ex-girlfriend was here. And if his deduction skills were correct, he would probably be the one breaking the news to her. Fuck his life. "I was getting ready to go back to my apartment," he told her, trying to keep things casual and light for now. How did one go about this? "Were you planning on keeping me company or did you have other plans in mind?" |
