"I don't know if it's true or not, though," admitted Mikasa softly, but she nodded her agreement. "They should. Captain Levi thinks so and he's said as much to their faces. I'm in no position to do so, though. Our monarchy sits safely behind Wall Sina, protected by two other walls and hundreds of other lives that the Titans can get to before they would be able to breach the wall."
She paused, motioning for Gwen to go ahead and set it up. A thoughtful expression fell over her features, with her brows furrowing a bit and her eyes lowering just a little. "High...schools?" she repeated the phrase, frowning. Not as far as she knew. They had schools, usually informal ones, and they had the military training. That was about it as far as education went, from what she knew. "I'm afraid that's another thing I don't know. We didn't...have the luxury to get an education."
Mikasa folded her arms briefly. "My friend Armin broke the rules by finding books about the outside world and reading them. He took a great risk by sharing his knowledge with myself and Eren. Then they came," she explained, using the word "they" with a fierceness. It was the tone that someone would use when speaking about a murderer or a criminal of the worst type. Really, that was being nice for the Titans. "And we joined the military. I suppose that's the closest to an education that we have. I'm afraid I don't know what you mean by detention, though." She paused briefly, adding with a small smile, "Unless if it's something like Eren being held under watch by Captain Levi."
