Sarissa looked at him in surprise. "That's a very nice thing for you to say," she said, because no one had really said that to her before. All her life, she'd been told how important the Mantles were. She'd seen first hand how important they were. It was why she'd steered clear of them, both because she didn't want to be assimilated, and because she didn't think she could handle the responsibility of something so important. To be told that she was the important one was...well, it was nice, even if she didn't wholly believe it.
"I'll look into options," she said after a moment. "If there's a way to separate me from the Mantle without messing anything up...well, that would be ideal."
