"That's not necessarily true," Sam pointed out. "Not here. This isn't your world. If you disappeared, the Mantle wouldn't be here. Maybe here, things can be different."
It occurred to him, then, that maybe the power of the tesseract would be enough to separate the two. That cube was capable of doing a lot, including giving non-humans a human form. If it could transform them, why not do the same for Sarissa? As always, he had no idea how or why the tesseract acted the way it did, nor did he have any way of trying to use it himself. Knowing that it might be possible that way didn't do him much good.
He watched her quietly. "It's a long shot. But don't give up, okay? There is hope for you. As long as you're still here and the Mantle hasn't taken over, there's still hope."
