"Danger," she followed, pulling out a card from her pocket. "See?" Sure enough, the printed piece of stationary said "Veronica Danger Mars, private detective". She had them made up when she decided to go into business for herself as a private detective again. She still needed to pass the New York exam to technically practice legally here, but she'd taken business on the side. "You can keep that one," she said, smirking and leaning back in her seat again.
She couldn't quite place the look on his face when he responded, and thankfully their lattes arrived and it gave her a second to think about how she wanted to address this next part.
"Logan...we haven't even talked much about when you're from and what's been happening in your world. There's a lot that I've wanted to say to you. To hope you understand. And I know this isn't easy. It isn't for me either, but I can't just keep waiting for you to be ready to talk about it either. I might be waiting forever, and I can't DO that, Logan. I need you in my life here."
