She let out a grateful breath that he agreed to talk. It would all be even harder than it already was if they waited any longer. She just wanted to break the ice for real so they could get past that and get to the part when they were close and friends again. She missed him, and it was even clearer how much now that he'd finally showed up.
She found herself blushing slightly at his offhand comment, though she laughed and shook her head to cover it. Veronica Mars didn't blush, not especially at Logan Echolls. Right? She ignored that he couldn't make eye contact. Maybe that was for the best at the moment. "Oh you know. Flattery will get you everywhere," she joked back, rolling her eyes.
She sat down at the table, which was wedged in the back. It was away from the action, which was why it was empty at the moment despite how busy the shop was. She rested her chin on her folded hands and shrugged, giving him a vague smile. "I've been here a long time. There've been ups and downs but people mostly know I'm solid and I'll have their back if evil goes down." She cleared her throat and sat back, realizing she was leaning in close, like she used to. It felt warm between them, though that had a hint of awkward. Things were NOT like it was when either of them had left.
