His hesitancy shouldn't have come as a surprise to her. After all, hadn't he just showed up and found her with another man that she loved? But it hurt, that he didn't seem to want to talk to her. She put a hand on his arm and caught his eyes. "It's kind of important, Logan," she said, a lump forming in her throat that she did her best to push down.
She realized she was probably touching him longer than she strictly needed and pulled her hand back slowly, looking around the crowded shop. There was a table free way in the back. "It'll probably be easier to talk where it's all crowded anyway," she said honestly, and gave him an encouraging smile. "I promise I won't bite. And hey, no taser," she said, lifting her hands to show she had no weapons. Well, except her knife from Sam which was safely strapped to her back, but that was neither here nor there.
"Come on," she said, using her head to urge him to follow her as she started walking towards the empty table. "Hey, Greta, bring me and my tall friend here two lattes." She turned back to look at him quickly as she walked, to make sure he hadn't run away.
"One of the small privileges in having small friends in high places at small places," she quipped.
