Well, the blowing things up and shooting people is really not in our purview -- I mean, we have no official stance on those who participate in either activity, but we don't encourage it on company time. However, we can always use more chemists, particularly those who are experienced in biochemistry, specifically, so I would encourage you to apply through our HR department. They're much more knowledgable than I am about our individual staff openings, and the specific requirements for open positions.
Obviously, we'd still like to see a CV listing relevant expertise and accomplishments, and it may take longer to get you fully certified, but of course, we'll sponsor certification and pay for training, assuming your chemistry skills are well-suited to the field of biomedical research.
If you don't have much experience with genetics, I'd encourage you to apply for an internship -- the payment isn't as competitive as full time positions for applicants with advanced degrees, but it will give you a chance to show us your strengths, and we like to promote from within.
