It might not be all that surprising to know how comfortable Rose felt once the Doctor had laid down beside her. There was still small pings of jealousy there, but it was amazing how she felt more reassured now that he was here. He had been gone a long while, but at least he was here now.
Smiling, Rose moved closer to him and slid back down so her head was resting on the edge of her pillow. It might be harder to stay awake that way, but if they were going to have a talk, she might as well make herself more comfortable.
Her eyes raised when spoke about River. "I'm all right." Okay, so that may not be the complete truth, but there was no sense of worrying the Doctor. Rose admitted her jealousy with Sarah Jane, but she was lucky to be able to form a kinship with her. It hadn't even bothered when the Doctor had met Madame De Pompadour. Okay so that wasn't entirely true, but at least she had a better understanding of the Doctor.
So why was she feeling uneasy now?
"I don't mind staying up to talk," she replied. Rose fought back a yawn as she was determined to stay awake, just a little while longer. "I wonder why that is. I mean she knew all about you when you first met her. How much did she tell you?" Of course she knew enough to know that the Doctor and River had a hard time meeting at the same point in time. It was why they had their diaries to see how far along or behind the other was.
