She looked up at him gratefully, glad that he didn't call her stupid, although she didn't give up thinking it a little quite so easily. She did feel a little silly about letting a nightmare scare her so much. All the same, it was good to know he didn't think it was dumb to feel afraid of a dream.
She exhaled gratefully and nodded. "Not going to make a habit of it, Pete. I promise that." She resisted the urge to hop up and hug him, much as she had felt when Mr. George had been so sweet to her, and instead she merely beamed, hoping she could see how much it meant that he was willing to give her something that would calm her. "Thanks again, Pete."
Of course, she gave him a face when a blanket and pillow were plopped down on her, but she cuddled in all the same.
His comment earned a wry smile, but after her cry and given how late it was, she felt more tired than she thought possible. "Sorry to get you up. I'm...well, I'm just going to sleep. If that's okay?" she asked, though as she said it, she was laying down, and her eyes were already so heavy.
