Rose had her eyes closed but she was far from being asleep. Her breathing had eased up, and her heart beat had finally slowed down. She was taking a moment to calm herself and to fully assess what had just happened between her and the Doctor. Never in a thousand years did she think they would have reached this point. Not that the thought hadn't crossed her mind, oh even before getting stuck in New York, Rose couldn't help but let her mind wander. What she had felt was nothing compared to what she imagined. There were nerves there of course, in the beginning, but she couldn't think of a moment where those passed and pure joy took place. Well as far as birthdays go, this certainly was the best one she could ever have. It was hard to imagine what future birthdays could hold and have it be better than this moment. Thinking back she wondered why she had been so nervous. During Jack and Ianto's celebration she had been quite giddy about the whole day in general. Having her own birthday cake, surrounded by the people she loved, celebrating a beautiful union, and of course what the rest of that day had in store for her. Ianto had pressed her during a dance, trying to find out why she was so giddy, and it took a lot to strength to keep quiet. There was no need to say anything just yet, it was like her own little secret she had with the Doctor. Rose had the urge to move, but instead she just opened her eyes. Silence was still in the air and she wasn't sure if she wanted to be the one that broke the silence. Unsure what to say about what had just happened, though anyone looking at her could see she was more than just happy. Happiness didn't even begin to cover her emotions. Instead she smiled and stared at her beloved Doctor. Truly the most remarkable man in the universe, and now she could add one more thing to the list of why she thought so. She brushed the hair away from her eyes and sucked in her lips into a sheepish smile. |
