I've been thinking about it for a long time, and I was... pretty reluctant.
I kept telling myself that things were exactly where I wanted them to be, that we were both happy so there wasn't any reason to change. I didn't want to get married -- or need to. I've seen too many unhappy marriages. My parents weren't happy.
But then I thought about it more, and thought about... I mean, I'm an inventor. I never stop changing things or trying to envision a better future. It was suit after suit not because I wasn't happy with one, but because change isn't something that should be feared, it should be. You know. celebrated. It can be a good thing.
So I asked. So she said yes. So we're getting married -- and I get to invent what that means for the two of us.
