Who: Jace Wayland and Alec Lightwood
When: December 31; afternoon 2:00 PM
Where: The great city of New York!
What: Brotherly/parabatai bonding and talks. Even boys needs their time.
Rating: PG-13 at best (language most likely!)
The museum with Clary hadn't been that bad. Jace had certainly sat through worse and been through worse. The exhibition, admittedly, had been interesting. It wasn't quite what he had thought it was going to be, but it had certainly put a smile on Clary's face. With everything cleared up, Jace was able to admit that he much preferred seeing her smile than not.
In their parting, he had assured her he would be an appearance at the Stark party and would even dance, especially when they went dancing. Mostly, it was to make her happy, but it was partly because Jace knew Isabelle. He knew that she was capable of making her brothers, much to his dismay, do nearly whatever she wanted. The powers that siblings held were frightening and Jace often wondered why it wasn't bottled up and used against everyone in the world.
As promised, he had sent Alec a text message to meet him downstairs by quarter after two. If anyone was deserving of Jace's time aside from Clary and Isabelle, it was Alec. Jace, at least, had been in a better place memory-wise than Alec was. It was still strange to be able to look at Clary and not feel ill with fret and disgust because of his feelings for his apparent sister. Strange, but comforting. Alec had come from before so much and Jace was certain a bit of brotherly parabatai chatting would do them both some good.
Normally, he would have suggested Taki's, but that didn't exist in this place. None of their normal places existed, which made giving the necessary suggestions a bit difficult. There were the few places just outside of the tower, but Jace hadn't been entirely impressed with the layout of the city. He knew it, but he didn't. It was throwing him off.
Wearing the leather jacket that Alec had given him for Christmas, Jace was waiting at approximately 2:15 PM as promised. He was busy, for a brief moment, glancing at his phone at another text message from Clary. It was practically becoming rule of thumb that if his phone went off, it was usually always from Clary. That girl had texting down to an art.
"You're late," he said with a slow grin. No one was really late, but Jace was there, to clearly everyone else was late.
