Castiel saw no reason not to admit it. Granted, in the presence of Dean or even Bobby Singer, admitting to his own faults was also admitting to a shortcoming and therefore perceived as weakness. The fact that others tried to make him conform to their standards of normality was not lost on him, though he still saw no reason to. Logic and fact were dependable. Truth was dependable. Emotion...emotion was just messy. Even the pleasant ones.
He nodded. "I am," he replied. "As for my lifespan, it is infinite, providing nothing manages to destroy me. We are not invulnerable. We simply have an unlimited amount of time. And we have no basic needs for survival. You could argue that we require time in Heaven to sustain our power, but here that is of little import. I've not visited this realm's Heaven. Nor is there any need."
Looking away again, he hoped she wouldn't ask. While he felt Boyd had a point in regard to going home just for the sake of returning, he still wasn't sure he wanted that. Not yet.
