Ororo/Charles
I understand a fair bit from having known Rachel so long as we have. Though would not presume a complete understanding. Though I can say, I could see that from him.
There are individuals who become mutants. We have not been able to find the mansion in Westchester--it was one of the first things we sought out. But, Janet Van Dyne--do you know her?, the Wasp, with the Avengers--has run into David Cannon, Whirlwind, twice, once without powers, and once very recently wherein he had acquired them. Potentially from Norman Osborn through some mutagenic process, we're uncertain entirely. And a few months back, Logan met Omega Red in Russia, though again not a mutant, but perhaps experimented on and given some powers? You would need to ask him for the full report.
So far as the protestors go, they are more protesting the presence of Refugees here, many of whom are highly skilled or experts in their field taking jobs, and living rent free in Manhattan. They come and go. There was a terrorist attack on the tower about two weeks ago wherein several super-powered individuals were affected by a gas which caused fear and did some rather public damage to the tower and the city.
I will sheepishly admit Thor and were responsible for a fair bit of that. So, that is their current ire. Which may be justified, though we should also be angry at being so targeted. There have been attempts to speak with the protestors, but as always, there are some in this tower who would prefer antagonize them.
It should be. He has started locking it for obvious reasons, but I am certain Logan would agree to a showing soon enough. And we'll likely start having work days soon.
