Castiel was truly glad to meet Boyd as well, if only because only one other person he knew of had experienced a crisis of faith and though he understood that it was unfortunate for all parties involved, it was pleasant to have someone who understood around. The smile was comforting. He didn't feel as though he were being mocked and that was unusual for him in and of itself.
"I was assigned a room," he replied bluntly. "I've never been to it, having no need for one. So I suppose your description of just 'popping' in is accurate."
Having never even spoken to the men with guns upon arrival, there were mainly five places in the new reality - there was Sam and Dean's, Meg's motel room, Jo's place, the bar itself, and the rooftop he enjoyed when he required some form of silence. Beyond that, he'd taken little interest. There were too many crimes to apprehend, none of which even compared to what he was used to hunting.
"I...will appear in front of you next time," he said. "Should you ask it of me. I was simply taught that the element of surprise was advantageous."
