"Yeah?" Sam said. "I'll have to meet him, then." Daryl seemed like a good guy, and if Rick was the best guy that Daryl knew, then Rick was probably someone worth meeting. Really, Sam was interested in meeting most everyone who came through the tesseract; partially for the fact that he was still trying to figure all of this out, but mostly because meeting all these people from other universes was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Especially since he seemed to have quite a bit in common with almost all of them.
He closed his water bottle and set it aside, wiping his forehead with one hand before running it through his hair. The problem with standing around talking was that it gave time for the adrenaline to wear off, and he wasn't ready for that yet. He wasn't tired enough, so once the energy left his body, his mind would turn back on again. He was trying to avoid that at all costs.
So when Daryl said he had to leave, Sam nodded, because that worked for him. If they were done, he'd text Meg and get her to come over for the spar that she'd suggested. And then he'd probably, hopefully, be done. "Likewise," he said. "Anytime you're in the mood for a good fight, I'll be around."
