"Very good," Albus replied. That odd flatness about this world had been noticeable again but it hadn't made itself obvious in any way in such a short apparition. He would have to keep it in mind once he tried any longer apparitions though.
"I could give you a very long and quite boring lecture on the magical theory behind apparition but now is hardly the time or place," he said, his eye twinkling merrily. "But at it's most basic it comes down to destination, determination and deliberation. A great deal of magic revolves around willpower and focus and apparition is no different. One must have the determination to reach their destination and must use careful deliberation when disapparating. Obviously this all becomes much easier and less of a conscious matter when one becomes used to travelling by this method."
He chuckled before continuing. "Magic. Mostly. It's best to be certain of your destination so as to not try and apparate into something but if that happens, the magic will simply place you on top of whatever you've tried to apparate into as two objects cannot occupy the same space. Obviously this can have its own dangers if one ends up on top of a building or another person or just simply falls off whatever they've landed on in their surprise. Blind apparition is not entirely recommended, especially for the inexperienced, however in this instance..." He waved a hand at the room around them. "The danger was minimal."
"As for pictures of our destinations, that would be ideal." He watched as she set up the test for Dixon with interest. He was rather interested in seeing his erstwhile partner carry out this test. "The better we know a destination, the more accurate we are."
