[The Mandarin walks among captured freedom fighters in what appears to be a Middle East village. His mouth moves as he talks to the POWs but we don't hear him. Then he moves away. As he does so, a firing squad raises their guns.] "Some people call me a terrorist. I consider myself a teacher." [Over the Mandarin's shoulder, all the captured fighters go down in a hail of bullets. The Mandarin's forces cheer for their deaths, guns raised up. There is a sharp, drastic cut in which the live footage turns into old time footage of America in the 1940s and 50s. Then goes to a close-up of the Mandarin, wearing sunglasses. Aviators, to be exact. ] "America. Ready for another lesson? In 1864 in Sand Creek, Colorado, the US military waited till the friendly Cheyenne's Braves had all gone hunting. Waited to attack and slaughter the families left behind. And claim their land." [The voice-over is laid over still images of the faces of Native Americans, then a photograph of all their women and children. Then, a decimated Native America village. Teepees are destroyed. In the snow, there's clothes strewn about, but a closer look shows that there are people inside those clothes.] "Thirty nine hours ago, the Ali al-Salim Air Base in Kuwait was attacked. I-I-I did that. A quaint military church filled with wives and children, of course. The soldiers were out on maneuvers. The Braves were away." [Footage of the bombing from a distance. The footage lasts for an uncomfortable amount of time before it cuts and zooms in. Then the Mandarin, once again, fills the screen. ] "Secretary (of Defense) Ellis, you continue to resist my attempts to educate you, sir." [Shots of the Mandarin's soldiers cheering as they burn effigies of America. ] "And now, you've missed me again. You know who I am, you don't know where I am, and you'll never see me coming. " [Random images of riots, of explosions and war fill the screen until there is a sharp BARK of static, and then the feed cuts out. Whatever station is apologizing for the interruption, and news broadcasters are going over every inch of this latest footage.] |
