"I told you I was single, meaning available if you wanted to go out!" Kitty would've ordinarily whapped him, and she went to do just that, but he was injured. So she poked him instead. Poking was acceptable. In the arm, not in the ribs, she wasn't that mean. She was relieved to get that sorted out, and any wiser portion of her that said she should give him more space was ignored. Blatantly ignored.
