No need to prep his drinks, though the money was taken and stored in the register before she grabbed the bottle of whiskey to refill his glass. “Ain’t too different. Ain’t seen no sentinels yet and people ain’t protesting the existence or rights of muh people…so Ah ain’t gonna go on no rant about how bad this place is neither.” She shrugged while twisting the bottle and lifting so as to stem the flow of liquor before fully righting the bottle upward in her hand. “New York will always be New York.” She smiled then, as if remembering something good from her past that could align with this world in some way or another. It was an easy smile that slid away just as quickly as it had started to form. When Booker decided to finally fill her in on the girl in the poster though, Rogue couldn’t help feel a sort of tug at her gut that made her both sympathetic and uncomfortable.
His glass was topped off once more before the bottle was placed under the counter, she turned her back on him and grabbed another glass to be dried before removing the clean rag from her shoulder to continue what she’d been doing before he’d come in. Green eyes did shook towards him as she looked over her shoulder just momentarily…She’s special. She could almost see Scott sitting there, talking of Hope, the change the girl could mean…she was their Messiah in so many ways. Rogue hadn’t allowed herself to think of home much, to think of her last moments before being brought here…the vision of Gambit holding the sleeping baby girl that had cured her of so many things with a simple touch. Who was the girl on the clippings in this man’s world? Would she hold the finally decision between some great good and evil?
Head bowed slightly as eyes closed and the glass was dried methodically without really paying attention, a slow sigh finally escaped Rogue’s lips before the glass was placed on a top shelf with the rest of the tumblers and the rag tossed over her shoulder again. “Ah ain’t seen her, but…” She seemed to straighten a little as she inhaled a little deeper than necessary, “If’n Ah do, Ah’m gonna need a way to be gettin’ in touch with you Ah reckon.” Eyes settled on him as her hands moved to rest on her edge of the bar top, “Ah ain’t no stranger to special people, if’n Ah see her Ah’ll at least know how to direct her back tah you.”
