A woman working behind a bar was unusual, but not the strangest thing he'd seen, and her clothes seemed pretty spot on when compared to how all the other women dressed around town. Modesty was no longer an issue, that's for certain. The gloves were a little unusual, but he wasn't going to ask questions that needn't be asked. All he wanted was a drink.... Which now seemed to be complicated. 20 different kinds? Sure times were different but the old fashioned was out of style now? Shaking his head, he waved the original order off. "Forget it. Whatever's in your hand, straight." It all burned the same way going down, he didn't need to be fancy about it.
Elbows kept his upper body propped up above the countertop, taking a few more moment to himself to look around and scout the place out. The bars he'd seen up in Columbia, well, they had had southern charm to them that rang in the girl's voice. The accent wasn't unfamiliar, but even he knew she wasn't a native of the city. "Where are you from" He asked as she made the drink, keeping his eyes elsewhere but still engaging her in conversation. His own accent, well, it was indistinguishable. Maybe he was from New York, maybe he wasn't. He'd taken some time to view maps and other geographical data of the current United States. Hell, he even went to a library to catch himself up on just what went different from his time: Columbia never existed. Neither did he, not Elizabeth.
"Hey, you seem this girl by chance?" He questioned, reaching into his pocket to pull out a large piece of thick paper that had clearly seen better days. It'd been ripped from what looked like a wanted poster, his own face partially ripped in half on one side while the sketching of a girl remained in tact on the other. "She's missing." He let the woman take a look before folding the paper back up and ticking it away into the pocket of his vest. As he did so, the skin on his forearms seemed to generate heat waves while his hands cracked open for a moment, liquid rock seemingly flowing underneath in attempt to burst out from the natural flesh. It was brief, like the blink of an eye, and then it was gone.
