"I definitely wouldn't want to spill the beer," she said, completely straight-faced. No mention of breaking his beautiful face, despite the fact that she probably wouldn't actually hit him. Well, not in the face, at least.
She looked around her own place and nodded as he complimented the decor. Dorcas had been here for several months and she'd had plenty of time to really make the place her own. It was lucky, too, that her roommate happened to be one of her best mates. She and Marlene had pretty similar tastes, so it had been easy to settle on a decorating scheme they both liked. Which just happened to end up in Gryffindor colors, but so what? Dorcas liked scarlet and gold a lot and even though it had been a few years since Hogwarts, having her place like this helped it feel more like home to her.
"I might have known you would approve of my decorating skills," she said with a smirk as she set the popcorn on the table next to the beer. He'd liked it well enough when he'd been there before, anyway, back when he'd been here and they'd been closer.
She laughed at his accusation that she'd just wanted to get him over to her flat. Dorcas did want to spend time with him. She wanted her friend back and not just this person who barely knew her, but she hadn't been lying when she said she had movies.
"I knew their uncles, you know. Gideon and Fabian. Those two were brilliant. I can just about imagine if your Weasley twins are anything like them." It should have felt bizarre, talking to this bloke who was a bit older than her about how she knew his friends' uncles, but everything about this place was mad. By comparison, this conversation wasn't that weird.
"I have those DVD things, right over on the coffee table, see?" she pointed. She was still getting used to technology in this place, even after all the time she'd spent here. It was all pretty brilliant, though. Muggles had their own kind of magic.
